Background…
The Speech and Hearing Center, Inc. is a
not-for-profit, 501 (C) (3), agency serving northeast Florida
and southeast Georgia. We provide high-quality audiology and
speech/language pathology services to the community. Our operating
expenses are defrayed by revenue for services, the sale of
hearing aids, grants (United Way of Northeast Florida, City
of Jacksonville, Jessie Ball duPont Fund, Sertoma) and donations.
The Center is a member of the National Association
of Speech and Hearing Centers.

About Healthfair…
Businesses, employers, Church groups, or other
community organizations, which may be hosting a healthfair, can request
our participation in such events.
The following is a list of services we can provide for a Healthfair
event.
- Free hearing screening (in appropriate environment & scheduled
in advance)
- Free otoscopic examination (identifying any wax impactions
contributing to hearing loss)
- Appropriate referral to resources for
diagnostic testing (when a hearing loss is identified)
- Free advice
on new hearing aid technology
- Free literature for healthfair participants
to take home
- Information available about income-based hearing
aid programs for the uninsured or underinsured (sliding fee scale)
- Free consult regarding hearing loss
