IMAGE: Richard RamseyBefore coming to Speech & Hearing Center, I didn't think there were any good people in the world. But through God, they proved differently. I appreciate everyone who works at Speech & Hearing Center. With money or without money, each one of them showed me their love. There's a lot of love in this place and I love each and every one of them. Thank you and God Bless!

IMAGE: Wendy J. AndersonFor years I have avoided many social situations because I couldn't understand or follow conversations--even in my own home. My frustrations mounted until I realized that I needed hearing aids. Speech and Hearing Center helped me to get the hearing aids that I really needed. Now, I can understand my four children, my husband, and my friends. I LOVE my hearing aids!!

About Audiology…

An audiologist is a professional who diagnoses, treats, and manages individuals with hearing loss or balance problems. Audiologists have received a Master's or Doctorial degree from an accredited university graduate program. Their academic and clinical training provides the foundation for patient management from birth through adulthood. Audiologists determine appropriate patient treatment of hearing and balance problems by combining a complete history with a variety of specialized auditory and vestibular assessments. Based upon the diagnosis, the audiologist presents a variety of treatment options to patients with hearing impairment or balance problems. Audiologists dispense and fit hearing aids as part of a comprehensive habilitative program. Audiologists may be found working in medical centers and hospitals, private practice settings, schools, government health facilities and agencies, as well as colleges and universities. As a primary hearing health provider, audiologists refer patients to physicians when the hearing or balance problem requires medical or surgical evaluation or treatment.

With recommendation from our audiologists, you will be able to choose from a wide variety of hearing aids, including digital and programmable hearing instruments that can be worn in many different ways.

Payment Options: We accept most insurance, Medicaid. And you may use Visa, MasterCard or your Discover Card for payment. For those that can demonstrate the need, we have grants and assistance from the UnitedWay, the City of Jacksonville, Sertoma and other contributors, to defray the cost of hearing aids and therapy.

Industrial Hearing Services: Hearing Testing is performed for employees working in high noise areas. We have a mobile testing unit available to companies and organizations that wish to protect their employees by applying Hearing Conservation Programs (OSHA Compliance Programs).
